MASSIMO BOTTURA, VIII ANNUAL MEETING OF THE BASQUE CULINARY CENTER

July 17, 2018

Berlucchi in Modena, on 22-24 July, together with Massimo Bottura and the Basque Culinary Center, for the VIII Meeting of its international council and the awarding of the 2018 Basque Culinary World Prize

Borgonato (BS) – Berlucchi, the sparkling wine producer that from its very beginnings has embodied the quintessence of Franciacorta and whose transformative vision has totally changed its entire growing area, will be the official partner at the VIII Annual Meeting of the Basque Culinary Center, this coming 22-24 July, in Modena, organized and hosted this time by Massimo Bottura at his Osteria Francescana, at the Collegio San Carlo.

For this annual meeting of the BCC, chef members of the international council will be joined by world-class artists, writers, film-makers and scientists, under the title “Transforming Society through Gastronomy.” They will discuss themes that include the power of ideas, the constructive strength of culture, the impact of science, and the influence of art on gastronomy and how this has become an international social movement.

“The relationship that bonds us with Chef Bottura goes far beyond just our professional respect for him,” stated Cristina Ziliani, who directs communications and external relations for the family-held winery. “Massimo is a dear friend, and we cannot but share his great pride in the tremendous personal and professional achievement represented by his Osteria Francescana’s placing, for the second time, on the topmost rung of the international rankings of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. His talent, his humility, his commitment to meritorious projects such as Food for Soul, and above all his utterly distinctive personality, have truly kindled a beacon for our society. Since we share with Massimo a strongly-held, transformative vision of the power of the eno-gastronomic culture, we are intensely pleased that Berlucchi was selected as the partner for this momentous event.”

The meeting will end with the announcement of the winner of the Basque Culinary World Prize, an award created by the Basque Government and Basque Culinary Center for chefs who transform society through their profession and dedication to the culture of fine wine and food.

Berlucchi salutes the opportunity to combine the culture, nature, and history of an important growing area with the pleasure of a flute of a great sparkling Franciacorta.
