The classic method sparkling wines
The cuvées represent the “Berlucchi style,” the result of a skilful blend of wines harvested in Italy’s best sparkling-wine areas: Franciacorta, Oltrepò Pavese, and Trentino-Alto Adige.
Where quality grows
All winemaking professionals have for a long time agreed on one principle: the quality of the wine comes principally from the vineyard, which gives the fruit the distinctiveness of the particular terroir and microclimate where the grapes are grown.
The “Berlucchi style”
Berlucchi played a fundamental role in first intuiting, then developing the superb aptitude of Franciacorta for sparkling wines, As far back as 1961, we produced the first 3,000 bottles of classic-method sparkling wine, assembling a cuvée we called “Pinot di Franciacorta.”

The Berlucchi Group currently comprises:

  • Guido Berlucchi & C S.p.A., in Borgonato (Brescia) is the main facility, founded in 1955 by Guido Berlucchi, Franco Ziliani, and Giorgio Lanciani. Sector leader in Italy in sparkling wine, its 2003 revenues were some 7 million euros on a volume of 4.6 million bottles. Its vineyards cover some 90 hectares in Franciacorta, and it operates three Pressing Houses, with the most advanced membrane presses, in Borgonato (Brescia), Lavis (Trento), and Casteggio (Pavia). Its administration, vineyard, and cellar staff numbers over 70.

  • Antica Fratta di Monticelli Brusati (Brescia), 18th-century villa recently-re-structured in order to restore and adapt the original buildings, and to make them suitable for conferences, art shows, and cultural events, as well as for a Berlucchi guest house. Franciacorta DOCG sparkling wines and Terre di Franciacorta DOC still wines are produced here.

  • The Relaisfranciacorta, a hotel complex with a restaurant attached, “La Colombara.” Built into a venerable farmhouse, it embodies the atmosphere and appeal of the countryside, and offers as well generous spaces for conferences or ceremonial occasions.

  • Caccia al Piano 1868, a wine estate with 20 hectares under vine, located in Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of the superb vineyard country of Bolgheri, home to some of Tuscany’s most prestigious wines. Caccia al Piano produces some 100,000 bottles of red wines from cabernet sauvignon and merlot, remarkably structured wines of great balance and ageability. Their names, Ruit Hora and Levia Gravia, pay homage to Giosuè Carducci (the names, respectively, of one of his poems and of one of his poetry collections), who spent a good part of his life here.
