OperaWine 2026: Wine Spectator’s Selection
Our journey began on Saturday, April 11, with OperaWine 2026, the exclusive event organized by Wine Spectator that brings together Italy’s top producers. Set within the Gallerie Mercatali in Verona, we proudly represented Franciacorta by presenting our Riserva Palazzo Lana Extrême 2014, a symbol of elegance, identity, and remarkable aging potential.

At the Fair: Identity and Hospitality
From April 12 to 15, at Hall 7 – Stand B8, our space welcomed operators, buyers, and wine enthusiasts from around the world. Guests were invited to discover our most iconic labels through guided tastings and an immersive experience defined by elegance, sustainability, and a deep connection to our territory.

The New Release: 100% Erbamat
Taking center stage was our 100% Erbamat, the result of years of research and experimentation. This native Franciacorta grape variety is distinguished by its natural acidity and freshness—key qualities in addressing the challenges of climate change.

The presentation generated strong interest among industry professionals and the press, further confirming Berlucchi’s commitment to thoughtful innovation: not a passing trend, but the revival of an authentic heritage rooted in the territory.

This year’s edition concludes with great enthusiasm, strengthening our ongoing commitment to sharing and representing the excellence of Franciacorta worldwide.

Italy played a leading role, with more than sixty wineries participating and featured in the most prominent seminars and tastings.

For the first time, Berlucchi took part in this remarkable event, which brings together the world’s most renowned wine producers. Representing the Franciacorta maison was Franciacorta Palazzo Lana Extrême 2013, awarded 93 points by Wine Spectator and already selected among the wines of OperaWine 2024.

This important recognition highlights Berlucchi’s ongoing commitment, dedication, and pursuit of excellence — values that have established the winery as one of the leading producers of traditional method sparkling wines on the international stage.

Guests enjoyed exclusive experiences across the historic cellars, Palazzo Lana, and the Corte Berlucchi, discovering the origins of Franciacorta while immersing themselves in an atmosphere of history, flavor, and conviviality. From classic tours with tastings of Franciacorta ’61, to more in-depth visits that included the historical and cultural journey through Palazzo Lana, every proposal revealed the most authentic spirit of our winery.

For the very first time, the inner courtyard was transformed into a refined open-air lounge, where music, soft lighting, and gourmet pairings accompanied the tasting of our wines, served alongside local specialties. Signature moments such as the Berlucchi Sparkling Dinner and the Festival at the Palazzo tour made these days truly unforgettable, offering a sensory journey through taste, history, and elegance.

Once again, the Festival confirmed the importance of initiatives that showcase Franciacorta, its cultural and historical heritage, and the gastronomic excellence of the region. Three days filled with encounters, tastings, and emotions told the story of the beauty of our land and the very essence of living Franciacorta.

Welcoming visitors and guiding them into the heart of our world is what we hold most dear: every year, the Festival is a special opportunity to share our stories, our wines, and our passions.

OperaWine 2025: the Wine Spectator selection
Vinitaly began for us on Saturday 5 April with our participation in OperaWine, the exclusive event organised by Wine Spectator that selects the best Italian producers each year. In the splendid setting of the Gallerie Mercatali in Verona, we had the honour of presenting a premiere of our Riserva Franco Ziliani 2011 alongside the leading names in Italian winemaking.

Tastings and international encounters
From 6 to 9 April, we were there with our most iconic labels in the Lombardy – Franciacorta Pavilion. Our stand became a meeting point for operators, buyers and enthusiasts from all over the world, offering a tasting experience dedicated to elegance, sustainability and local identity.

Masterclass: introducing the nature of the Classic Method
On Monday 7 April, a private masterclass entitled ‘Berlucchi Franciacorta: The Italian Sparkling Nature’ was held at Wine2Digital. This restricted-entry event guided participants through our production philosophy and was led by Susannah Gold, journalist, writer and WSET educator, along with Cristina Ziliani, vice-president of Berlucchi Franciacorta.

Wine tourism, hospitality and sustainability
On Tuesday 9th April, as part of the trade fair, Vinitaly Tourism was launched. This new project is dedicated to the ties between wine, hospitality and local areas. One of the most significant moments was the panel discussion ‘Innovation and Sustainability in Wine Hospitality: The Key Role of the Hospitality Manager’. Moderated by Professor Roberta Garibaldi, it featured Cristina Ziliani, Vice President of Berlucchi Franciacorta, and Roberto Magnisi, Director of Cantine Florio and Duca di Salaparuta.

This edition of Vinitaly ended once again with enthusiasm and gratitude, further strengthening our commitment to promoting the excellence of Franciacorta around the world.

This unique event combines cinema and television, featuring screenings, meetings and presentations of films and TV series. It also attracts major personalities from Italian and international cinema.

The seventh edition of the festival welcomed award-winning actress Ambra Angiolini as patroness, Harvey Keitel and Claudia Gerini as ambassadors, and Paz Vega as president of the jury of the Short Films section. Bo Derek, Katie Holmes, Paz Vega, Brie Larson, Patricia Arquette, Corrado Guzzanti and Claudio Bisio also appeared on the red carpet.

Our Franciacorta wines were the stars of the  aperitifs that opened all four evenings, as well as being chosen for the Festival’s closing toast.

So raise a glass and toast the stars of cinema!

Great Wines World USA: the event

Great Wines World USA is a key event on the calendar of international wine showcases, and its position is just as strong this year. James Suckling personally chose 400 of the world’s top wine producers and 900 of their wines. All wines received scores between 92 and 100 in Suckling’s tastings.

Berlucchi’s presence at the Great Wines World USA

Berlucchi will bring its two most prestigious Franciacortas to the event, ‘61 Nature 2016 and Riserva Palazzo Lana Extrême 2011, on which Suckling’s authoritative magazine bestowed 91 and 93 points, respectively.

These two wines express the quintessence of Berlucchi’s renowned elegance and winemaking commitment, and amply testify to the renowned expertise of Berlucchi’s wine-making staff in creating Franciacorta masterpieces.

Berlucchi’s participation represents an impressive tribute to this historic Franciacorta producer, and it is proud to join fellow winegrowers and producers to share their passion and winemaking dedication.

Berlucchi was on hand at the event organised by Fratelli Rossetti at the Fondazione Castiglioni on 15 April. It was a winning combination: Fratelli Rossetti is known the world over for its craftsmanship, top-quality materials and contemporary design; the Fondazione Castiglioni is a historic venue that preserves projects, drawings, photos and objects by the maestro of Italian design Achille Castiglioni. Berlucchi added a sophisticated touch to this iconic encounter with its ’61 Franciacorta Satèn.

Berlucchi@L’Appartamento by Artemest

Berlucchi was drinks partner to Artemest at two private events during Milan Design Week on 16 and 17 April. Artemest is the leading online destination for fine Italian craftsmanship and design. For the 2024 edition of the Fuorisalone, it presented the second edition of L’Appartamento, an installation at a historic residence in the Milanese Art Nouveau/Viennese fin de siècle style by six international designers, using only pieces made by over 170 Italian artisans and artists who work with Artemest. Berlucchi paired this event with its ’61 Franciacorta Extra Brut.

Berlucchi@Riflessi Store Cocktail Party

Berlucchi chose to echo the refined aesthetics of Riflessi with its ’61 Franciacorta Satèn. Riflessi is an Italian brand specialising in contemporary furniture with a focus on functionality, and the cocktail party on 18 April turned into an opportunity for cross-fertilisation and interesting pairings reflecting attention to detail.

Finally, on 19 April Berlucchi ’61 Franciacorta Satèn starred at The White Rose in Corte event in Viale di Porta Vercellina 9. The location is the showroom of The White Rose, a company providing tailor-made services for private and corporate events.

Year after year, Berlucchi reaffirms its affinity with the world of design, each time leaving its sophisticated mark at the Fuorisalone events. It is a relationship that reflects shared values such as harmony, craftsmanship and outstanding quality, which have always been features of our Franciacorta wines. On Saturday 13 Aprile, Berlucchi Franciacorta will perform in the leading cast of Opera Wine, the gala event that, as its name suggests offers opera-lovers across the globe an unparalleled opportunity to rub shoulders with Italy finest “diva wines.” The wine producers are selected by the experts of Wine Spectator, recognized internationally as one of the world’s most authoritative wine publications. Each year, its panel painstakingly evaluates the sensory qualities of a wide range of Italian wines, finally selecting the very top producers to participate in this gala.

From 14 to 17 April, Berlucchi Franciacorta will participate at Vinitaly, Italy’s universally-respected wine fair. Berlucchi invites guests to the Padiglione Lombardia, to its stand in the heart of the area dedicated to Franciacorta. There, wine-lovers and sector professionals will be welcomed to tastings of the latest vintages of the Berlucchi ‘61 Nature line.

One of the much-awaited events on the Vinitaly programme will be a masterclass on Monday, 15 April, entitled “Unveiled Cellar Secrets: the Story of Berlucchi’s Reserves,” guided by Berlucchi CEO and Winemaker Arturo Ziliani together with wine expert Filippo Bartolotta. The class also represents the “point of departure” for an unprecedented enogastronomic journey that will visit the main cities of Italy, unveiling the secrets of the much-awarded Riservas of casa Berlucchi.

And this is just the beginning of an exciting year for Berlucchi Franciacorta, which continues in its role of ambassador of Italy’s wine treasures.
