2016 sees the debut of Nature, the Franciacorta Millesimato (vintage-dated) that extends the \u201961 collection line, which commemorates the \u201cbirth year\u201d of the very first Franciacorta, created in 1961 in the venerable vaulted winecellars of Guido Berlucchi.
\nBerlucchi \u201961 Nature was born in 2009, which was a particularly fine growing year. Its grapes were grown in four estate vineyards lying between Corte Franca and Provaglio d\u2019Iseo; now15 years old, they are mature enough to yield quality grapes capable of producing a Millesimato.
\nThe cuv\u00e9e, composed of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir, matures sur lie a minimum of 5 years. It is Nature in style since Arturo Ziliani, Berlucchi Oenologist and Managing Director, chose to add no syrup dosage at disgorgement.
\n\u201cBerlucchi \u201961 Nature Millesimato conveys the purest expression of this growing area,\u201d explains Ziliani. \u201cIt combines, in fact, the fleshiness of Chardonnay and the minerality of Pinot Noir. Even more, the absence of the syrup dosage means that the wine can express its true, natural soul.\u201d
