Our mission, as a company committed to environmental and social responsibility, takes shape through projects, actions and everyday collaborations. At the heart of this journey lies the Berlucchi Regenerative Viticulture Protocol (PBVR), the result of decades of vineyard research: practices that protect the soil, support biodiversity, promote vine vigour and safeguard all players in the supply chain.
Alongside the protocol, the Sustainability Report — now in its sixth edition — reflects our ongoing commitment to measuring our impact and ensuring transparency. For over fifteen years we have been monitoring greenhouse gas emissions using certified tools, and investing in soil quality, renewable energy and cultural initiatives such as Academia Berlucchi, all of which contribute to the growth of the local area.
Thanks to these and many other projects, we continue with determination towards an increasingly mindful and resilient Franciacorta, preserving the territory we love and building a future grounded in responsibility and innovation.
Explore our Sustainability Pillars and let our in-depth videos guide you through how Berlucchi is evolving its approach to winemaking.
Rooted in the past, looking to the future: this is the foundation of our work, which translates into a commitment to the environment, the welfare of people, the quality of our wines and a caring, nurturing approach to the local area.
Sustainability is, first and foremost, a shared, heartfelt vision embracing a positive and virtuous outlook regarding the world of tomorrow. It is not just the sum of small and large everyday acts undertaken to bring companies into closer harmony with the environmental and social context in which they operate.
With this in mind, we present our Sustainability Report for the year 2022: a document that reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and social and economic responsibility. The 2022 edition of the Report marks the continuation of a journey in which, year after year, we have established exemplary governance thanks to the dedication of multiple stakeholders.
Below is the Sustainability Report 2022. We hope it makes for good reading!
Berlucchi and Treedom are celebrating their second year of partnership with the planting of a full 1,000 cocoa trees. This special gift box is dedicated to that effort.
The pair of our winery’s most coveted Franciacortas, Berlucchi ’61 Satèn and Berlucchi ’61 Brut is enriched by a special gift that gazes toward, and creates the future of all of us.
In fact, by joining the Treedom project, Berlucchi has planted 1,300 trees over the last two years, which have absorbed over 71 tons of CO2.
You too can be a part of this project! Inside the gift box you will find a custom Treedom card that will allow you to adopt one of the Berlucchi ’61 for Treedom trees. This is the first online platform in the world that makes it possible for you to “distance plant” a tree and then follow its history online!
Treedom is the first platform in the world that allows you to plant a tree from a distance and follow the story of the project online.
Since its foundation in 2010 in Florence, more than 1.000.000 trees have been planted in Africa, South America and Italy. All trees are planted directly by local farmers and bring environmental, social and financial benefits to their communities. Thanks to its business model, in 2014 Treedom became part of the Certified B Corporations, a network of companies that stand out for high environmental and social performance.
Every tree on Treedom is geo-localized and photographed and has its online page, it can be kept or virtually gifted to others. Thanks to these features, Treedom’s tree engages people and at the same time it represents a great communication and marketing tool for companies.
