Arnaldo Pomodoro Edition
CELEBRATION OF THE NEW MILLENNUM
Arnaldo Pomodoro puts his signature to Berlucchi 2000.
A literally unique moment: the celebration of the new millennium. And once again, a truly unique millesimato, marrying the expertise of Berlucchi in the creation of the cuvée to the art of one the the world’s greatest contemporary sculptors, Arnaldo Pomodoro. The result is Berlucchi 2000, a numbered edition intended for just a handful of serious connoisseurs, its prestigious bottle bearing a label “coined” in gilded metal, and another, exclusive, bearing the original artwork and decoration in bronze by the artist.
Assembling this cuvée from a selection of small but choice lots, Berlucchi created a wine whose scents of the Franciacorta terroir–ripe fruit, peach blossom–meld deliciously into more pronounced impressions of apple, ripe peach, and almond classic to Chardonnay. Crowning its aromatic complex are subtle hints of wild forest berry, the gift of Pinot Noir, while in its turn, a lengthy maturation sur lie brought to the union notes of toasted bread. Its ultra-generous, multi-faceted palate is enhanced by a slight dosage.
Cuvée FRANCO ZILIANI 2007
FIFTY YEARS OF HISTORY: A good beginning.
1961 marked the birth of the first bottle of Pinot di Franciacorta, and with it the future of a growing area began to change. In 2011, institutions, producers, and friends celebrated its first 50 years of success and the 80th year of Franco Ziliani, creator of that very first bottle.
A double, exceptional milestone, fittingly marked by a special Franciacorta in magnum.
CUVÉE J.R.E. N° 3
In the summer of 2015, six women chefs and sommeliers of the Associazione Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe tasted at Palazzo Lana Berlucchi nine Franciacorta Riservas and selected the Rosé 2007 made of 38% Pinot Noir and 62% Chardonnay (62%) grown in the Quindicipiò and Arzelle vineyards in Borgonato. After resting 7 years sur lie in the bottle, it was given a dosage of only 2 grams/litre, which allowed the impressive personality the wine had already acquired to shine through.
Thus Cuvée J.R.E. N° 3: feminine in appearance, complex and uncompromising in its heart, a small masterpiece of nature and winemaking. Only 3,980 bottles produced.
Artistic decorations, on bottles of any size, make each bottle a truly unique artwork.
The art of wine meets pictorial art and the result is a marriage that delights the palate, the eye, and the soul.
